Lochinvar Commercial Solar Swimming Pool Heating offers an innovative solution for outdoor pool heating using Super Hot Vacuum Panels. Elite Renewables, based in London, successfully installed these panels at a sailing club located on the picturesque south coast of England. The unique challenge here was the pool’s proximity to the sea, making it susceptible to saltwater and sand exposure. To combat these challenges, the Mechanical Engineer recommended the use of vacuum collectors to ensure superior performance.
Benefits of Vacuum Panels:
Unlike traditional solar panels, Lochinvar KSA panels are designed with vacuum sealing technology. This innovation is crucial in protecting the panel absorber from the corrosive effects of saltwater and sand. Vacuum technology plays a significant role in creating high-performance thermal insulation, effectively preventing conductive and convective heat transfer. With its vacuum-sealed design, these panels excel in low-light conditions during the winter months in the Northern Hemisphere.
The vacuum also gives more flexibility in the orientation of the panel, meaning it could installed as low as 5⁰ if required. With the limited roof space for the panel installation the client asked if the panels could be mounted vertically.
Efficiency and Longevity:
One of the key advantages of Lochinvar’s vacuum panels is their efficiency and longevity. When delivered to the installation site, these panels are intentionally not vacuum-sealed. This approach safeguards system efficiency during transportation, as vacuum collectors can potentially experience vacuum loss during transit. Additionally, this design allows for future re-evacuation if vacuum loss occurs, further enhancing the solar system’s efficiency and extending its lifespan.
What the Client said in September;
Versatile Orientation:
Another remarkable feature of vacuum panels is their flexibility in orientation. They can be installed at angles as low as 5 degrees if required. This adaptability proved to be invaluable when dealing with limited roof space for the panel installation. In response to the client’s request, the panels were mounted vertically, ensuring an optimal fit for the available space.
